History


The Doctoral Study Program (S3) in Cultural Studies was established in 2001 through the Decree of the Director General of Higher Education of the Ministry of National Education of the Republic of Indonesia SK number 2366/D/T/2001, dated July 11, 2001. The decision issued by the Director General of Higher Education, Ministry of National Education. Republic of Indonesia.

Based on the Statement Letter of the Chancellor of Udayana University No. 2444/J.14/HK.01.01/2001 dated July 11, 2001, the Doctoral Study Program of Cultural Studies was incorporated in the Postgraduate Program at Udayana University Denpasar. However, starting from the end of 2016, the Postgraduate study programs are directed to be under the right faculty of the Udayana University. Since then, the Doctoral Study Program of Cultural Studies has been under the Faculty of Humanities.


The Doctoral Study Program (S3) in Cultural Studies brings a new atmosphere in the world of undergraduate education at Udayana University. This study program is a development of the Masters Study Program (S2) Cultural Studies Postgraduate Program at Udayana University which was established in 1995. With its humble beginnings, but carrying out a very noble mission in the world of education, the Doctoral Study Program (S3) in Cultural Studies was accredited for the first time C.


In line with developments and achievements, in 2009 the accreditation level rose to B rank, in accordance with the Decree of the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education of the Republic of Indonesia No. 013 BAN-PT/Ak-VII/S3/I/2009 dated 23 January 2009.

In 2014 the Doctoral Study Program of Cultural Studies was re-accredited by the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education of the Republic of Indonesia, through BAN-PT Decree No. 365/SK/BAN-PT/Akred/D/IX/2014, dated September 11, 2014 with a score of 309 B rank.


The 2019 re-accreditation also sets an accreditation rank of B.

On March 27 2023, the Doctoral Program in Cultural Studies held a curriculum workshop, inviting experts, alumni and users. Outcome of the workshop is in The Curriculum 2023 of the Doctoral Program in Cultural Studies.
